Replacement Battery Won't Take

Hi, dell must be up to their tricks again. I bought a replacement battery for my latitude 5590 from ifixit. It worked like a charm the entire semester at college. Then during my final it shut off because it didn't recognize it as a OEM dell battery.

I can only use my laptop with the charger plugged in. The UEFI/BIOS tells me the battery is in excellent condition.

Am I stuck having to buy an OEM battery? Is there a registry edit I can set to bypass this check?

@turnerherbek could be in the BIOS or could be in the EEPROM that is part of the batteries management board. What exactly is happening? Is it not charging the battery or do you get any kind of error? What have you checked in regards to the battery? Have you run the Dell power manager to get more info about the battery?. If this is because of the BIOS, I would try to update with the latest BIOS. Download the BIOS file and then run that file with the "/forceit" command.
