does anyone know if the surface pro 9 or pro x kickstand is compatible with pro 8?
they seem exactly the same
unfortunately one of the ears of my kickstand is damaged and the problem has been to find anyone having the part or being able to order it, i mean it was released 4 years ago, it shouldn't be that hard to get an hardware part

The part numbers for the kickstands are different between the 3 models you mentioned so presumably they're not interchangeable.
Here's an image from the Surface Pro 8 parts list showing the part numbers for the kickstands.
Search online for the CRU part number, applicable to the laptop model and colour you need, to find suppliers that suit you best.

do you know if it's feasible to remove the "ear" strap from a new kickstand and glue it back on the old? like i said, my problem is just a defective plastic piece and i can only find the part in dark grey available in the us 😢 on ifixit there's only the silver
I don't know.
Also not sure what type of adhesive to use as best that I can find out is that the kickstand is made from a magnesium alloy which might be difficult to join as well.

no, the Pro 9’s kickstand isn’t the same part as the Pro 8’s.
