Extension Spring Alternative Needed
Is there an alternate part number for Murray 165X87MA? The extension spring broke on my 1996 Ultra and now it is not operable. The spring for my model is no longer available.

I don't know if this might do.
It is very close in size i.e. only 2mm difference in spring diameter. Might depend on the size of the spring material as to whether it is strong enough. Count the number of turns in the springs perhaps.
Here's an image showing the various sections of an extension spring so that you may be able to compare the original to the one listed above.

Thank you for sharing! The spring that I'm trying to replace has 49 coils and elongated hooks.
