"Give" in battery when replacing screen

Hi

I replaced the screen on my G73 phone today. This required removing the battery. When prying the battery out it's consistency was not what I've encountered before with a battery (although it's been a while since I did anything like this). When prying it seemed to have a very slight "give" to it, as though it were made of extremely firm putty. There was no visible difference in shape when done and it fitted into the new screen perfectly. It's now charging and working fine.

It is a lithium ion polymer battery

I just wanted to check if this is to be expected, and if it would likely have cause any damage

Thanks

@tom72547 the battery in the G73 is a pouch battery. Yes, that could be quite normal since what you are feeling is most likely the electrolyte, which typically consists of a mixture of organic carbonates and LiPF 6 salt. It can feel quite doughy. At this point I do not think that there is anything malicious going on with your battery.
