第7代 iPod ,官方称之为 iPod classic,发布于2009年9月,相较于前代机型并无太大区别,将 iPod classic 6.5代产品中的120GB 硬盘更换为更轻薄的160GB 硬盘。

Why is my iPod Classic making a clicking noise?

My Ipod Classic has started making a clicking noise and just tells me to take it to the apple store to fix. Just wondering what actually could be wrong. It still charges fine, so I was thinking it might be the spin disk or a chip but not really 100% sure. Has anyone else had this issue and know what needs to be repaired?

@shapop62714 without actually hearing/seeing it and only going by your description, this sounds like a bad HDD. Pretty common for the year and model. At this point I would replace the HDD.

You replace it tthe same way as you would on the 6th gen iPod Classic 硬盘更换

Yes, you will get a few answers that will suggest you convert your iPod to a SD card etc. but I just prefer to stay original. That way I do not run into compatibility issues. No, I do not need a device that will hold 15,000 songs :-)

I thought it might be a HDD problem, interesting to know it was a common problem but only happened to me so late in the game. Truthfully I'm with you, I don't really need that many songs, I barely filled 160GB.

@shapop62714 what happens with these HDD is that they really "gum up" and the read/write head arm starts to not properly move. It is actually more an issue of underusing the iPod that can cause this :-) Like I said, I'd pop a new HDD in there and continue to use it. The Classic iPod 's are still my favored music player :-)
