iPhone SE 2020 progress bar not working

Hi, after starting to update my Iphone SE 2 on my laptop, the progress bar quickly filled and finished, but now it is stuck on a full progress bar. The apple devices app just endlessly says updating iphone software and I'm not sure if I should force restart my iphone and try again or let it run for another couple of hours.
