How do I replace the camera?
My camera is not working, can someone explain how to replace it please. The green light comes on but no image

Start by resetting the NVRAM and SMC. If that doesn't help, then you know you have a hardware issue with the display. Replacing the camera itself on these models is not easily done. You would need to fully disassemble the display assembly and do some very delicate microsoldering. The more feasible approach is to replace the display assembly, but the displays on these can be pretty expensive. Here's a link to a display. Good luck!

You might be better off just using an external web cam when necessary as the 'repair' to fix the possibly damaged camera is a nightmare of a job when it comes to removing the screen glass and all to get to the camera part...... @danj Sorry about that, but the basic troubleshooting princle shall apply: make sure it's the camera by testing another assembly before proceeding the difficult part of replacing it.

@wenchao - Apple makes testing on the there M series very difficult at the physical level. At best you have the onboard diagnostics.
Replacing is not really done, here the full display assembly is swapped out as the lid assembly is not easily opened and replacing the camera is just not done.the camera is serialize to the system.

I knew that a few iPhone componenets were binded to the system such as touch ID, which many people complained about. What good does it do for Apple?
