Question Mark Battery Indicator

Hello,

I just replaced my battery this weekend. I have followed the battery calibration included with the instructions. However after the initial charge the battery indicator was displaying a question mark. I restarted the device and didn't think about it again. Then I used the phone until it died. I charged it fully again and today (day 2 after battery replacement) the question mark is back and won't disappear after restarting the phone.

Is the new battery defective or is there something else going on? Thanks in advance.

Update (08/08/24)

Okay so here is what is happening. The battery cable will not stay seated in the power on the MB. The screw at the top of the bracket will not work anymore because the part it screws into is broken. Is there any type of electronic glue that could be used to keep the battery plugged in or a way to fix the screw?

Thanks. I'll take a look. The phone died and now it doesn't seem to want to charge.

Did you ever figure this out? Mine has been doing this off and on since May. I took it to a local repair shop and they showed me that there's nothing defective and the battery seems to be fine.

If the battery flex isn’t staying seated without the plate behind it, you may need to check the connector on the battery and the board to see if there’s any damage to the pins - you may need some type of magnification to confirm if they are damaged.
