Question regarding SIM unlock

I have a Razr 5G 2023 T-mobile and I have an unlock code for it. I was told to put in a non t-mobile sim and enter code, but it never prompts for the unlock code. Is there a way around this so I can unlock the device? It is running android 13. It’s not eligible to be unlocked via the settings option. Is there a way to flash a non T-mobile ROM to get it to prompt for the code?

@nick you dealt with T-Mobile and their unlocking before. Any idea on this one?

@oldturkey03 I answered it. This is why I buy phones that never had a SIM lock to begin with.

How I did it and freed my parts P6a I found had no balance was I used the prepaid speed route. I didn't condemn it right away because it was too new and too nice. If it would cost more to unlock then it's street value I'd have used it for parts.

T-Mo phones do not use manual codes, they use the app. Stop using the code or it may hard lock!!!

Is the phone on a prepaid plan? If it is, you can pass the gate early by paying into a troll roll by putting $100 on the prepaid account, then waiting 14 days. As long as you do that and meet that requirement then by their own policy they are obligated to do so. You just might have to pick a fight with them if you bought the phone secondhand.

For postpaid you need to pay the balance and may still have to wait but they have similar policies.

This would be the only way. ROM swapping will retain the SIM lock since it's tied to the cellular radio and not the phone ROM. It's also bootloader locked anyway, so you can't. I know you can change it once the lock is removed on the Pixel with T-Mo (and some AT&T Motorola phones) so I would assume it can probably be done once the SIM lock is off.
