Would A1466 EMC 2632 be compatible with A1455 EMC 2559?

I am trying to fix my dad's laptop [MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 - A1466 EMC 2632] from unexpected shutdowns, I took it to a store and they told me I needed a new logic board. I found the Item # IF188-177-1 [MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2012) 1.7 GHz part but I am not sure if it is compatible since it lists [EMC 2559] Could someone guide me a bit more before for me before I purchase it? You time is very much appreciated.

Let’s take a deeper look at the EMC numbers

So other than the year these are the same system A1496. We reference parts at the Model ID level here MacBookAir5,2 & MacBookAir6,2 in this case.

@carolinaurr9246 double check your dad's laptop. From what you are giving us (A1466 EMC 2632) that would make it a mid 2013 not a mid 2012. The logic board for that computer is a 820-3437. For the EMC2559 that number will be 820-3209.

If it (your dad's laptop) is a 2012 (double check your numbers :-) then the logic board you selected will fit. If it is a 2013 it will not. The 2013-2017 are interchangeable but not to the 2012 due to the heatsink and connector location etc.. It will not fit.

A1455 is a iPad Mini and no, that logic board will definitely not fit ;-)
