Samsung UN75AU8000fxza model year 2021 will not turn on.

MY Samsung UN75AU8000fxza 4K UHD tv will not turn on, there is no remote

so I have to use the power button. There was a remote and the tv would not turn on with the remote either.

I have the back of the tv off, there is a power board, a main board and a buffer board along the bottom of the set.

there is a ribbon cable from the power board to the main board

there is a ribbon cable from the main board to the buffer board

The power board is screwless and plugs directly into the backlight connector(no cable

I have checked the ac voltage on both side of the power board fuse and have 120vac

With everything connected and the tv plugged in I have no standby voltage and do not read voltage at the backlight connector.

If I unplug the main board cable to the power board the is no change, still no standby or backlight voltage.

I also unplugged the cable from the main board to the buffer board and no change.

I reconnected all of the ribbon cables, backed the power board out of the backlight connector and now I have 12.9 VDC Standby and 290 VDC on each of the 4 backlight power pins.I have a jumper wire from a grd lug on the power board to the tv frame.

With the power board backed out of the backlight connector the set tries to come on.

The red power light shows 2 slow flashes then the samsung starting sound then 1 longer flash, a very quick flash and the boot process starts again and continues until I unplug the AC.

The power board and main board were not much so I replaced them both and the symptoms are still the same.

I never see the backlights come on in any configuration, would bad backlights cause this?

Thanks for any help, Charlie

When I disconnect the power board from the Backlight connector I have standby voltage 12.9 VDC and backlight voltage at each positive pin 290VDC. It is in this configuration

that I get a reaction from the standby light.

The red power light shows 2 slow flashes then the samsung starting sound then 1 longer flash, a very quick flash and the boot process starts again and continues until I unplug the AC.

@ccrowe39866 try this next. Disconnect the ribbon cables going to the driver board of the panel. Now try to turn your TV on. If it does, you have a panel error (sadly relatively common in the larger panels). Let us know what you get.

If that is the issue, a Tape off may help, but it may also not :-( Post some good pictures of all of your boards and how the are arranged on the back of the TV. That way we can see what you see.

@ccrowe39866 "backlight voltage at each positive pin 290VDC" does your backlight turn on when you disconnect the main board from the power supply? If so, that is a pretty good indication that your power board works. You will need to measure the voltages on the connector on the power board where the main board connects to.

@oldturkey03 The backlights do not come on when i disconnect the main board from the power board. I will check the voltages at the connector you mentioned and get back to you. Thanks for your help

@ccrowe39866 if your backlights do not come on but you do have the proper backlight voltage, the issue will be your backlight strips.

@oldturkey03 Thats what I thought, I ordered the backlights a few days ago. What I find strange is that when the power board is unplugged from the backlight connector I have standby and backlight voltage. But when I plug the power board into the backlight connector the voltages on the power board drop way down to just about nothing. Its like the backlights shut down the power board. When I first checked the power board I did it with everyhing plugged in and I could only read 1 volt at the test points. I never disconnected everything and then checked the voltages on the board. The new power board reacts the same as the old one when plugged into the backlights. I will install the backlights when I get them and keep you posted.

Thanks again
