Freezer icing up at bottom

Thank you for your reply @jayeff I tried the seal test and it is good. Also tried the diagnostic test however, the whole thing blinks on and off twice so fast it’s hard to tell but nothing actually blinks. It looks like it only shows the same as the pic in the manual so nothing is erroring out? I’ve also read besides the drain line to take the panel off and check something in the back (think it was related to coils, easy check/fix like drain line) but now I can’t find it. Would you know what that would be? Thank you for all your help. You are appreciated!

It could be a fault in the defrost cycle i.e. defrost heater, defrost sensor etc but I don't know why the diagnostics aren't picking that up if it is.

Perhaps one way to narrow it down would be to run the diagnostics again and this time use your phone to video the display.

You said it blinks twice which in itself is unusual but I was hoping that by videoing it you could watch the video and pause it when the display starts to blink and count how many and which LEDs are being lit.

Yah my son says it’s broken in the first place because the illumination error doesn’t stay on for 30 seconds unless he’s reading that wrong. I can tell that all the leds light up. None are blinking persay.

I would disconnect the power to the refrigerator and then remove the panel at the back inside the freezer and check if the evaporator unit is iced over.

If it is then perhaps when the defrost cycle occurs instead of the small amount of ice that usually builds up between defrost cycles there is a large amount due to possibly the defrost heater not functioning.

The water that may be flowing under the drawers could be because the ice is melting "naturally, because the compressor is turned off during the defrost cycle and the evaporator is no longer as cold as it was.

All this is only a guess but you have got to start somewhere.

If there is a lot of ice build up, use a DMM (digital multimeter) to check if the defrost heater has continuity.

Note: If the evaporator unit is iced over, only use a hair dryer sparingly i.e. short periods at a time only as the unit is only thin aluminium and designed to work at freezing temps and you don't want to damage it or the freezer walls etc

@jayeff a safe alternative to a hair dryer is a steamer. You can go full blast and not worry about damage to anything (like melting plastic!) This is the model everyone in my company uses: https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChc...
