How do I replace a broken LCD on a Kodak Easyshare C643?

Liston Bailey, just looking at the service manual and it appears that its not a terrible job. Point to remember for sure is that to prevent injury, you must do a discharge of the CAPACITOR. Remove the screws on the outside of the camera body. They show as number 1 on the parts diagram. There are two on the right, two on the left and two on the bottom. At this time you should remove the front case. There are two more screws, bottom left and top right, once you remove those, the back case should come off. You now should have access to the LCD screen. Open the clip, tab, that hold the ribbon cable to the connector. The LCD should now swing out. battery door and pull the two parts of the case apart. Looks like the tricky part to be careful of, is to make sure the selector knob is in the Off position when opening case up. Also make sure that you carefully remove all parts and pieces. Sometimes the housing can bind and may make the dis-assembly a bit tricky. The image shows you the location of the screws as well as how it all fits together. Hope this helps, good luck.
