Spilt water on laptop

For now you want to stop continuing to try to charge it or to turn it on. This potentially can make a bad situation worse.This may further damage your laptop.

The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your Acer using something like this video. Remove the motherboard. Then you must remove the heatsink/fans etc. from your motherboard. If there are any EMI shields on it, you must remove those. After you remove those, clean the whole board, connectors and all with +90% isopropyl alcohol. While you clean your board, check for any obvious damage, like burned or missing components etc. If you have questions about a specific area or a specific part, post a couple of good pictures of it, with your Question. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Best thing to do would be to clean it with an ultrasonic cleaner, but if you do not have access to one, this will at least help. Once all this is done, reassemble your laptop and reevaluate. Until it is cleaned, everything will only be a guess. Even with all this, water damage has only a small chance to be fully repaired, but at least you can give it a try.

Remember to take some good pictures of your motherboard (front and back) since those will come in handy if further troubleshooting will be necessary.
