Stuck on apple logo

Hi Matan,

I've got one of the original Apple Watches with the same problem, and unfortunately I haven't found a fix for it yet. In my case the watch was given to me by my son after he upgraded. I had originally replaced the battery in it a couple of years beforehand, but it had been sitting in a drawer for a year or so before I got it.

The battery was totally dead, so I ordered a replacement from iFixit and that kind of got it going - at least to the point where you're at. I requested a replacement and once that was in the overheating stopped, but it still refuses to boot and won't go past the logo no matter what I do.

I strongly suspect the firmware needs restoring, but of course with no attachment to an iPhone, on the Watch that's impossible. I've been eyeing the iBus adapter that appears to allow you to connect up a standard USB port to the watch and update it with iTunes just as you would any other Apple device, but so far I can't justify the cost when I can just buy a fully functional watch for the same price or even cheaper.

That's really as far as I've ever gotten, so if you find a way to get it going, I'll be very interested to see it. Here's my original post for more information.
