I replaced power board and main board, clicking stopped but no red lt at all. fuse is good, voltage is 12.86 at each of the inward pins on the black cable connected to power board side, the two on the end are both ground. I cannot get the tv or the red lt to turn on at all no sound no picture, two new boards. I have watched all the videos did all the unplug, press button tricks. I'm a master electrician, so i know about power, I'm not a tv repair man. If I unplug the ribbon cable going from top of power board to top of main board, in either direction the white backlights come on. power is getting to the tv, but not coming back out is a dumb guess, stone dead. i really need help. 2000 for the tv, it lasted 3 yrs. i know its something easy, i dont want to get another tv unless it is just bad somehow. 1st and 2nd pics are original power boards both power boards are identical. 3rd pic is the new power, 4th is th old main, note QN75Q60R, 5th is transceiver, 6th is old main bd. QN75Q60R. 7th back of tv, 8th new main board, same model number BN94-14119C But says QN75Q6DR. it is supposed to be the same, the numbers match exactly and it looks the same, the "D" is confusing me. pics 9 and 10 are old power board.

@vinceelect whart is the exact make and model for your TV. Post some good pictures of your power board, main board and finally a picture of all of the boards (complete layout in the back) with your Question. That way we can see what you see and we are all one the same page in the same book.

This sounds like a panel issue. you already replaced the two most probable culprits for this. It is not uncommon for the large screens to have issues like this. We need to see more and go through some common troubleshooting before going down the panel route.

I believe so, it was stated that they would work, but i do not know. The clicking and the red lt flashing went away when I replaced them, but now no lt. no anything, except if I unplug the ribbon cord connecting either of the two boards, the white back lights all come on, when the ribbon cord is plugged back into the board, no lights, no anything.

I cannot find a revision number anywhere on the boards, but the tv rear plastic cover has a label that says version FA01-QRQ60

if the backlights come on the led driver boards should be good? It seems power is not getting to the red light somehow. I'm unsure that tearing up the tv to see the led drivers will do anything, please explain, and thank you. does it matter if the power board with the exact same layout and exact same part number and nomenclature is a problem if my old board stated model QN75Q60DRAFXZA, and the new installed one states model QN75Q6DRAFXZA, They are supposed to be identical except original says 6zero and new one says 6D.

@vinceelect with tvs its best to stick to the same numbers, if the backlight turns on then its nothing to do with the standby light

The boards have the same exact configurations of parts and the BN part number, I looked hard for a revision code but could not find one on any board. I bought a brand new transceiver, exact same bn number and visual for .99C It has an LED lt. in it, for a buck and an easy change, I'll try this as well. Short of ripping into the LED boards buried at the bottom of the tv and the expensive screen that wouldn't be worth replacing. I've had a great deal of fantastic help with this, but now I'm stuck. I bought a new tv a Samsung Q75Q90C, it cost as much as 4 other off brand tvs, which i told my wife i would rather throw a tv out the window and get another if I can get 4 for the price of one. The cheaper one was a Hisense brand with a brilliant picture, I was told it was junk, I don't know, but it would probably last more than 3.5 years. I'm mad now, and I'm going to fix that old one if it takes a year. If you have suggestions I haven't tried I will gladly accept them. I can see you are very good at this.

@vinceelect you say you changed the power board and mainboard but still have no image, did you change the tcon board even tho this has nothing to do with the standby led

Hi @vinceelect,

You never stated what occurred just before the TV failed. Was it a power outage or storm or did it just fail of its own accord?

If the former then it may have caused two faults to occur.

The clicking problem was fixed by the replacement of either the main board or the power board but the no red light and turn on problem that remains could be the IR board. Samsung BN96-48729A? (check to verify the board number)

The TV button controls are also on this board but I'm not sure if the power light also is or not.

If it is faulty then the remote or the TV controls won't work

Thank you Jayeff, but my tv has no buttons or controls. the only button on the entire set is the tiny on/off button at the center bottom attached to the red lt. I do have a tranceiver i think is the IR control. BN59-01314A

I think my transceiver is actually the wifi controller or something like that.

Have you been following my conversation with old turkey, he has been very helpful but maybe another set of eyes might think of something. I am at my wits end. samsung model QN75Q60RAFXZA version FA01-QRQ60

@vinceelect

Looking at images of the transceiver board as per the part number you linked, it appears as though there's a LED light on it so I was wondering if that is the red Power light.

If so my thought still stands that it could be that board

I believe its a stand by lt, that was barely visible, on the right side of the tv, its more a chunk than a flat board but its cheap, ill get one and see what happens.

I replaced this today, still no red lt anywhere, and no turn on. tranceiver i think is the IR control. BN59-01314A

@vinceelect first disconnect the power. Then disconnect one of the ribbon cable from the main board to the panel LED driver boards. Reconnect the power and try to turn it on. Now do the same things with the other ribbon cable, just reconnect the one you previously disconnected. Let us know what the results are for this.

I would suggest that you remove the speakers as well and then the metal covers for the LCD driver boards. Check those boards for burned oir missing components. Remember that they are considered part of the panel. They are attached to the panel via some really flimsy ribbon cables that are fastened to the LCD by a special process. Those are the ones you have to be gentle with.

There have been plenty of issues with the large panels shortening out and causing this exact issue.

Thank you, I will try this, I'm curious because all the white backlights come on if I disconnect the cable connecting the power board to the main board on either side, and when reconnected they immediately turn off, but still no red lt. and no tv on. I don't know if that is any relation or reaction to the problem. I will try as you suggest, I'm at my wits end with this, now I have to be really careful, and are these LED driver boards replaceable, would they both be bad. Getting them off could be a real problem. Other than an obvious visual damage, how do I know if they are bad. Thank you

完成的

@vinceelect that is actually the correct way for the backlight. when you disconnect the main board, the power board is setup to provide immediate power to the backlights. Once you connect the main board, it is actually the main board telling the power board to turn the backlights on. I would wonder what happens when you disconnect the panel and turn your TV on. It should of course give you some sort of error but the startup might be different.

I tried removing the cable from the power board, I get a vaguely solid blue screen, and if i tap it I can see the white lt at the tap point. No errors, no red lt at power button, remote does nothing, power button does nothing, same as before. I had previously reset my remote about a dozen times. Now it flashes a little red dot next to the power on button about 110 times if I hit the power on button. tv does nothing. Should it at least click like it wants to turn on, I get stone dead, no noise, nothing. I'll try the LED driver board stuff you wrote, but how would that prevent it from doing anything at all. I should have at least the red lt unless the tv is on or the red light has no power?? I also press the bottom center tv on off button attached to the non glowing red lt. periodically just in case the remote has an issue.

完成的

@vinceelect I did not mean from the power board. DC the cables from the main board to the panel. Both of those ribbon cables. Of course, I am certain you know this but want to say it anyway. Always disconnect the power cord when unplugging or reseated any cables. I do not mean to insult you with that, just want to make sure :-)

完成的

I unplugged the power cord from the wall for 30 sec to try a reset while the power board was still disconnected from the ribbon cable, i heard the relay click as the white lts turned off, and when I plugged the power cord back in the relay clicked and the white lights came back on. I just plugged the power board cable back in and the white lts turned off, now usual black screen, I also held the tv on button for 30sec. and still nothing but black screen. What supplies the power to the red lt?? Is the power button an issue.

I want to let everyone know I did fix the TV, I am thrilled. The entire issue was a bad main board, easily diagnosed thanks to all your help. The new board I received was for a model QN75Q6 D RAFXZA, it did not allow the tv to turn on or show any red lights at all. The TV was ready, back lights worked, blue screen worked, everything worked except no power to on off switch. I switched the board for the correct board for model QN75Q6 0 RAFXZA and it came on immediately and works perfectly. All that hassle because of a digit "D" that was supposed to be a "0". very hard to see the difference but it was a very important detail.
