The tv won’t turn on. Blinks red.

One night while using the tv it popped loudly like if a capacitor exploded but no smoke or odd smells came out. Then I’ve tried to turn it on again but the tv blinked red 7 times after trying the standard startup sequence. I heard the relays clicking but no fan spinning, most forums online suggest a complete failure of the sc board, unfortunately I can’t take a look at the tv by removing the rear panel if I don’t know with enough answers what could be the actual fault.

Tv model: TX-P55VT60T

Ps: idk if this could help but it popped while using it with the touch pen and it was an identical pop as a firecracker or a bad capacitor but no signs of an exploded capacitors have been seen.

Anyway have a nice day and thanks for your help ^_^

@imacpowpcintm the problem is going to be that we will need to see the boards etc. to provide answers :-) Remove the back cover and take some GOOD pictures of all of your boards. Post those with your Question. That way we can see waht you see. 7 blinks on this model is commonly caused by

Missing Vsus. ( Open or loose connection between connectors SC2(SN2)-P2. )

Abnormality of the scan circuit output, the 15V_F, Vad, and

Vscn circuit.

Open or loose Connection between the SC board and the SU/SD board (SC41, SC42, SC46)

Primary suspect is teh SU/SD board.

Alr thanks and yes this also confirms my principals suspect’s of the faults. Unfortunately it will took a while until I can found someone that could help me to carefully remove my tv from the wall so this could take a long time, but I will keep everyone updated. And well thx again!

@imacpowpcintm I get it! I know what it's like. No worries, we'll be here. If you use the @oldturkey03 (or any other username, that user gets notified of the message.)

@oldturkey03 I was lucky! One of my friends helped me and we did it, now the problem seems like a small component because I didn’t see any broken or soon to explode capacitors. Unfortunately I’m not that good in removing surface mounted components, so do u have any guide to do it properly? Also should I add a small heat sink from a raspberry pi for better cooling? Also I’m not sure if that exploded due to a failure or because something else had gone wrong. But if what has failed is only that thing it’s a good thing…hopefully…

@imacpowpcintm that small component is a SMD Diode. YEs, the issue here is now, did it blow because of a short circuit somewhere else. or is it the part that has failed. Heat is awlasy an issue with this so it is possible that heat and/or a current spike has caused this. I do NOT have a schematic for this board so I suggest that you look on the black part of the blown component. You should make out some writing/numbers or even a makers mark. Post a real good picture of that with your Question so we can see what it says. Do the same with component D422 (next to it) let's see if they are identical.

@imacpowpcintm to get a refresher in soldering (and de-soldering) I like the videos posted by Mr SolderFix (no kickback ;-) like this to desolder Look through a few and try to solder/desolder
