Left half of screen flickers randomly

Model U7H (India, different from the one sold in Americas). Left half the screen automatically flickers as you can see in the video. This is random and is immediately after TV startup regardless of input source. After sometime keeping the TV on or restarting the TV, it vanishes. The 4k TV is under warranty. Technician visited and didn't seem to have expert knowledge. He checked with his manager and told me he'll get a firmware update. He's yet to arrive with the flash drive. What could be the probable issues? Should I ask immediately for a panel replacement?

I'm attaching the video for your kind reference.

That looks like an issue with the power lines to the left side of the display. Possibilities are a bad main board component, a bad T-con board component or even a bad LED driver board. Check all the ribbon cables from mainboard to the LED driver boards. We need to see all the boards on your TV. So once you remove the back cover post those with your question. It is unlikely to be resolved via a firmware update, but anything is possible. Let us know if the update fixed it.

They never arrived with the firmware update. Hisense support sent another technician and he took pictures of the motherboard, by looking at the video (issue was not reproducible when they visited), they came to conclusion that MB is faulty. They now called that they dont have stock so they will replace whole TV. Good deal?

@xploreraj at least that would be a possibility. If you can’t get a new one, see if there is a used one available anywhere. Give it a try.

If it's a smart TV you should be able to update the firmware via ethernet or wifi.
