@scottturne66536 those are Torx T55. Those are a bear to take off, so you want to make sure that you use a cheater bar as well. You do not need to take those off, if you just want to change your brake pads etc. For that, you just remove the two 18mm bolts to remove the caliper bracket. Just saying....:-)

Occasional removal though not necessary will help prevent seizing in Salt Belt climates. Just make sure you know what your doing! first you can get jammed up if they are already seized . You also need to Use the correct product to help prevent seizing correctly. You can't get anti seize or anything on the pads or rotors!¡!!!! This is paramount!!! Breaking a bolt or not getting it properly secure again can be very hazardous to you and everyone around you on the road, brakes are nothing to take chances with! If you have even a small doubt have a professional do the work. I'm only saying this because I'm about to do the brakes on my 2001, and moved to almost Canada a lot of salt has gotten onto things. But I've done it myself since 2007 on this vehicle.
