Seal hole in in-wall toilet tank

Half a year back our contractor installed in-wall toto toilet with the tank inside the wall. It turned out while drilling hole for something else he went too far and made a tiny hole in the tank's bottom right corner. Now it is slowly leaking. He accepted the fault and wants to fix it by his expense, but it requires replacing multiple wall tiles and etc . We are leaving it as the last option, but we are looking for other ways to avoid breaking the wall. Luckily my wife is able to squeeze her hand through the control panel opening and inside the tank, and she can feel the hole, it feels like a a tiny knob. So, she can put some glue on her finger and apply it directly to the hole, she also can do some sanding before that, and maybe even apply a patch if needed(not sure it will be ideal though - space is tight, all operations will be done blindly). The complexity is that as far as I know the tank is made from polyethylene and most of glues don't work well with it, and welding is out of question due to the limited space and inability to watch the process. Question - do you think fixing hole in polyethylene tank is possible under the mentioned conditions? If yes, what glue can you recommend?

@pkouzm i there any chance you can post a couple of pictures about this very interesting problems? It will help us to see what you are seeing and hopefully we can come up with a good answer. My concern is that the water will get into your wall and may cause damage later on. 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

@pkouzm do you have a model number for this? It's quite nice, the way it can be installed. It does look good and really can make a bathroom special.

No I can't post pictures as the issue can't be seen without special devices like pipe camera.

@pkouzm since you do not have a good way of getting to that damaged tank, other than a small opening, this will be difficult. Most Likely nothing is going to be 100% perfectly sealing it. What feels to your wife as a "feels like a a tiny knob" is most likely the polyethylene "cauliflowering" to the outside from the damage with the drill bit. If anything, I would try a product like Flexseal Tape. I am usually very pessimistic with any of those products, but in your case you do not have very many options. Clean it as good as you can, a bit of rough sanding and then apply the tape over the hole. Follow the manufacturers directions of course ;-). You might even try a small patch then a bigger patch and going bigger again. I do wish you the best of luck and no matter how you fix it, do let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks! We wrote to manufacturer for the advice. I was hoping some glue may work, but let see what they advice and maybe we will try patching too
