Front Air Suspension Issue

2005 Expedition, King Ranch. Air suspension motor kicks on, inflates front end, dances and tries to level out. Eventually (usually 15-20 minutes) gives up and sends a suspension error to the dash. Other times it works fine if I have several errands to run and the key has been cycled several times (off/restart/drive/off). Decided to replace the front ride height sensor starting with the left side. Part was purchased from RockAuto. After install, the air compressor would not kick on at all. Removed, inspected, put back the old part and restarted. This time I immediately get a suspension fault on the dash. Removed, replaced again with the new part and I don’t get an error, but the air compressor still will not kick on. I’ve never had an issue with the compressor until I replaced the ride height sensor. I’ve double checked the on/off switch for the air suspension and it is on. I’m scratching my head at this point. 2005 Expedition, King Ranch.
