camera does not work after display replacement

I mounted the new original display (with frame), but the camera stopped working. I don't think it's a software problem because it was working before. I have already tried unplugging the components and cables, and cleaning them with a little isopropyl alcohol, but it still does not work.
Any advice?

(Attached is the video showing the problem and some photos on how I mounted the phone)

Hi Gavino,

In this case I would go back to the beginning and start over; meaning I would put the old screen back in (assuming it's still functional, just cracked) and see if the problem is still there.

If everything works with the original screen, then there's something going on with the replacement screen that's affecting your camera, as odd as that would be.

If the problem is still present, though, that would indicate that something went wrong with your repair, sorry to say.

We just solved a similar problem on an iPhone here the other day; the new screen had a cover over the camera's peephole that was supposed to be removed when the screen was installed. Because the user hadn't removed it, all they saw was a black screen. That doesn't sound like your situation due to the error message you're getting, but it might be worth checking; maybe the camera is smart enough to know that it shouldn't be seeing a full black screen.

Just to clarify; which camera do you believe is giving you the error? Is it possible to switch between the front and rear camera? Which one comes up by default when you bring up your camera app?

But yeah, if it was me I'd try swapping the original screen back in to figure out where the problem is coming from.

Let us know what you find.

UPDATES. I just tried an app that isolates front camera, back camera and flash. The external camera and flash work, the front camera does not (shows black screen). So, the problem is only and only the front camera, this does not make the camera app open. What do you recommend me to do? (Unfortunately, the old display is unusable)

@most99, try unplugging the front camera and bringing up the camera app. I suspect the app just gives up if it can't talk to the front camera even if there's nothing wrong with the rear camera.

So if the camera app works with the front camera disconnected, I would be seriously considering replacing the front camera. You can pick one up on Amazon for under $10.

I just placed the order on amazon, I will let you know. Thank you very much!

UPDATES. I mounted the new camera and it works. Now I'm having problems with bluetooth, I can't always connect devices and when I can it feels jerky and I can't get too far away from the phone, what do you think the problem is? Anyway, I remembered that the phone in the past fell into water, I think some components were damaged. Now everything seems to work except the bluetooth, precisely. Do you think I should publish a new post separately?

Was it a screen complete with frame or just the screen? There is a protective black plastic sheet over the front camera which needs pulled off before fitting the camera.

@most99 it's not there. Genuine Samsung screens have a protective film which needs removed before fitting the camera. If there are no bent pins or damage to the camera and board connections I'd get something like a needle and under magnification check the components below the connector in case one has been dislodged.

Maybe the pins got damaged and might need a replacement
