Repair guides and support for your Samsung TV.

Tv won't turn on after a few hours, what could be the possible cause?

Hello, I've recently got my hands on a free Samsung 75 inch tv (UE75TU7100KXXU).

The TV initially didn't work and the led indicator light would keep blinking red while the TV would constantly turn on and off.

Since then, and after watching some YouTube videos I managed to get the TV working by covering one of the pins on the ribbon cable going from the panel to the main board, the TV now turns on and works.

However, after 5/6 hours the TV turns off, and the initial problem proceeds again, with the red indicator light blinking, and the TV constantly turning off and on.

If I leave the power off via the socket for 10/15 minutes the TV will then work for another few hours.

What could be the possible solution to this? Would replacing the power supply or main board solve this issue?

@mm899 do you have a link to the youtube video? Covering those pins is most likely just bypassing the real issue.

@mm899 all of this sounds more like a power board issue. the concern here is the "covered pin" cable. That is usually directed to "repair" the display. It should not be responsible for this "the TV turns off, and the initial problem proceeds again, with the red indicator light blinking, and the TV constantly turning off and on". Lt us know if you have checked any voltages on the power board/ main board connector and what else you have tried.

Your Smart TV uses memory just like your phone or PC. The more apps you run on your TV, the more memory your TV uses and when the memory gets low, the TV can start to run a little slow. It may take a while to turn on, the apps may take longer to start, or the menu may take longer to load.

Will
