Dead Display After Battery Replacement

Hello!

I replaced the battery in a 2016 MB A1534 today. After the replacement I turned the MB back on, and the display was dead. No backlight, and I cannot see anything on the display with a flashlight. I hear the boot chime, but nothing on screen.

I connected the MB to an external display, which thankfully worked. The battery seems to be charging normally.

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the display cable, resetting the NVRAM, SMC, and PRAM, no luck. Any ideas on how to narrow down the cause? My current thoughts are that it is the display cable that is bad, or the display itself. No ideas on how… Thanks in advance for any help!
