LCD has no backlight even with replacement
My LCD has no backlight even with the replacement. I’m suspecting blown fuse, but I couldn’t find one to test the connectivity.
Do you guys know what’s the fuse looks like on this board.
Hi,
Check that the lid switch is working.
Your model has a sensor on the power button board (part # 767254-001 - supplier example only)
I don’t know if the sensor is a magnetic type or a light sensor but you could try running a magnet around the power button area to see if that affects it at all.
Normally when the laptop is turned on, there is power to the backlights all the time and the backlight power is turned on and off in the display panel by the lid switch signalling the BIOS which signals on the blon lead to the display panel.
Here’s an image taken from a motherboard schematic which may not be your board (it’s from a HP Pavilion/Envy 14″ 15″ 17″ Quanta Y11 Y11A Y11C DAY11AMB6E0 schematic so hopefully similar concept) to show how it works. The connections may be different on your board.

Here’s the maintenance and service guide for the laptop, taken from this webpage go to p.46 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the power button board

Anan Th. what is your computers complete model number? Do you see any numbers on the board that would give us an idea who made it :-) Check for some printing around the memory modules something like DAY11.......or similar. Also, you need to check the underside of the board as well. There will be components etc on there as well.
