Hi @breaculp ,

The maximum memory that the laptop supports is 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM memory (DDR3 PC3-12800)

You can replace the HDD with a SSD to improve performance (up to 2TB 2.5” sata SSD - 9.5mm adapter required to ensure that the SSD is positioned correctly in the laptop’s HDD drive bay).

The CPU can also be replaced. There is a list of compatible CPUs in the service manual, linked below.

Here’s the maintenance and service guide for the laptop, taken from this webpage.

In there you will find all the necessary pre-requisite steps and the procedures to replace the memory, the hard drive, the CPU and also the display assembly. The display assembly procedure details how to remove the hinges.

There is also a parts list in the manual.

To get replacement hinges, look in the manual to find the part number applicable to the hinges in your model (it depends on the display type) and then search online using the part number only in the search term of your browser, to get results for suppliers.

If the hinge mounts in the laptop body are broken and not the hinges themselves you may have to replace the base enclosure. (look for the part number in the manual)
