Releasing a ribbon cable from the mother board

Block Image

I have a Pioneer CD player with a bad optical pickup assembly. The ribbon connector attaching it to the mother board will not release. The connector has no visible tabs to press or lift and appears to be a solid block soldered to the mother board. How do you get the cable released?

@jbtjr we will have to see what kind of connector this is. There are plenty of them around and unless we can see your connector or at least a model number, we cannot answer this. 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

I got it! The ribbon is just a friction fit into the connector. It was tight, so you have to pull straight up with a steady but very firm pull and it came out. Problem solved!
