Water damage, iPhone 11 Black screen still Responsive

iPhone 11 bought in March 2020 from Apple, limited warranty-

-Current condition: Black screen, will not display anything no matter what, still responsive to touch and will charge (it makes the accompanying noises/vibrations and an alarm went off which I stopped by touching usual spot)

-Previously had an iPhone 7+ that had been submerged in pool water on multiple occasions for various times and it works perfectly

-Googled if newer phone was water-proof yesterday came up with the 2 meters/30 minutes resistance

-Submerged it for no more that 10 secs 2 inches underwater- did this 3 times

-May have been splashed close by?

-Sat it on a table for a good hour

-Picked up and noticed slight screen glitch- scrolling through photos too fast would cause tiny tiny grey grid to cover entire screen

-Over the next 2-3 hours, proceeded to use phone as per usual, restarting periodically and playing a YouTube sound clip to vibrate water out of speakers

-Screen glitched more and more often with use

-Plugged in charger and got the water notification, unplugged but re-plugged not to long after, force restart

-Darker patch, “oil” spill-like appeared in bottom left corner

-Stopped working entirely, current condition as above

Why would you submerge it 3 times? Once would be bad enough. You must've expected it to work afterwards. The amount of people who come into my work with liquid damaged iphones and say 'I thought they were waterproof' is ridiculous.

@chris_cookie yes water resistant but not water proof. What you have is a water damaged device. Time to treat it like that.

The very first thing you want to do is to stop continuing to try to charge, sync or otherwise use your phone. This potentially can make a bad situation worse. This may further damage your phone.

The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using these guide iPhone 11 . You must remove all EMI shields. If you do not remove those, you might as well not do anything. After you remove those, clean the whole board, connectors and all, with +90% isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide , and even so it was written for a 3G all the points are still pertinent to your phone. While you clean your board, check for any obvious damage, like burned or missing components etc. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Best thing to do would be to clean it with an ultrasonic cleaner, but if you do not have access to one, this will at least help. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate. Until it is cleaned, everything will only be a guess. It is possible that you have a bad LCD as well as a damage Lightning connector assembly and replacing those may fix it. Even with all this, water damage has only a small chance to be fully repaired, but at least you can give it a try. If not sure about all of this I’d try to contact experts like @refectio or @imicrosoldering and see what they recommend.

I have an instance where the iphone 11 has been submerged in 2cm of water for <1min, 2 black spots in corners appeared, still tappable.
phone was heated up with a phon (heat gun for female hair), turned off after ca. 10 hours and for 10 days turned on and off for a minute, the black spots seem to disappear and normal view reappearing, although a bit lighter colors than the rest of the screen.
is this sheer luck or how it should work with minor water damage?

I have the exact same problem, everything, I mean ABSOLUTELY everything is working except the LCD, it still registers touch, it still makes sound, it still does the mute switch vibration and everything else! I've sent it to apple but they didn't want to repair it unless I paid, I really couldn't afford to pay so I just wanted it back. Now I need help streaming it to my smart TV. Would anyone be pity enough to help me do such? Thanks.

First thing to die with liquid damage is the screen, always. Gets in through the ear speaker and seeps into the top of the screen then goodbye screen. Time for a new one I'm afraid. Cheap enough online and plenty of guides. If you have face id be prepared to lose it.
