Screen is coming off my phone

I have a smartphone that I’ve had for a while now. I noticed some time ago that the screen was raised slightly at the top but it still seemed to work so I didn’t worry about it.

Yesterday, I was using the phone to read in bed and the position I was holding it in meant that it was screen side down. The screen just slid out of place.

It stayed attached the electronics, but it was no longer held in place. I pushed the screen back in. The phone still works - but I can now pull the screen out from its place with a finger nail or if I just hold the phone screen side down and wait for it to slide free.

If I don’t stop it falling it, it’s going to get damaged. Can I just glue the screen in place? I can’t see any way to make it stay otherwise.

Hi Jess!

Please follow this guide: 摩托罗拉 Moto G 第三代 显示屏更换

I would apply tape again to secure it.

The only part of the guide that applies to my scenario is the very last part about installing it with pre-cut adhesive/tape and it doesn't really go into detail. I presume the tape you linked to in your answer is stronger than normal tape?

Is there a best practice for where to apply the tape? I.e. One strip down the middle, a rectangle of tape around the edges, etc.? Is there anywhere to avoid sticking the tape?

I think the tape provided in the link is already pre-cutted! So your good to go I assume :). Check if there is old tape left, remove that first! Not stronger then regular tape, but it’s pre-cutted and not too thick. So the best thing to buy, my guess :).
