Bluetooth speaker audio blinking

Some times when using my JBL Charge 4 the audio will start coming in and out in roughly 1 second intervals. Usually I go through disconnecting, reconnecting, and eventually restarting the speaker before the audio will continue in a smooth manner. Any ideas for the cause? What could be an efficient way of fixing the audio problem quickly when it starts?
