I tore a tab that is connected at the bottom portion of the TV

Block Image

While performing a repair on a Samsung TV I had torn one of the yellowish flaps as shown above from this stock image I found online. I put the TV together only for there to be a huge vertical black bar where the tear occurred. I was wondering if their was a means of repairing this issue that wouldn’t require me to throw away the TV.

Hi any updates of thos? I have done the same thing. Please let me know if yours was fixed too. Hopefully it can be done with an adhesive

@moldylunch you obviously created a huge TAB error when it tore off. Basically what that means is that the signal from the LED board to the panel is no longer conducted through the ribbon cable which is bonded to the panel. You could try and overlay the cable and use some strong clothes tape to secure it. Some people have managed to use liquid conductive adhesive to glue the traces of the cable to the corresponding contacts on the panel. You would have to ensure that you do not get anything conductive between those contacts. In reality it’s a PITA to fix but not impossible.

I have tried pressing the torn ribbons to the screen and the image starts to show. In terms of adhesives do you have any specific recommendations? I have B-7000 and want to know if it's okay to use

again please understand that you need to protect the contacts so that you get nothing conductive in between. For the liquid I would look at some from the Loctite Eccobond line or if you prefer tape go with some that has a cloth backing. I'd be looking for something like Tesa 4651

B-7000 seems to be way to messy and does not have the right applicator etc. If anything the adhesive tape would probably work best for you.
