iPhone 7 Bootloop after opening

Hi Guys,

After opening my iPhone 7, it is stuck in a boot loop. I didn´t unscrew anything, since i didn´t have the right screwdriver. I just opened it up and put the screen back on. Any idea how to solve this? Already tried DFU etc…

The iPhone 7/8 series have a very inconvenient bend on the Home Button flex. It’s really easy to tear the flex, either near the logic board connector or at the 90 degree bend before it sneaks underneath the LCD heat shield. You have to be careful when you lift the screen off the first time but also anytime the flexes are connected and you have the device open.

You will need to carefully inspect the flexes to see if there is any damage. Magnification here will help.  Look for tears to the flex or any physical signs of damage. If you’re uncomfortable (or don’t want to invest in the tools necessary, consider having this looked at by an independent repair shop.

In addition to what @refectio proposed, there are other possibilities such as (but not limited to) causing pry damage by the battery; battery itself not properly plugged in; audio codec pre-existing failure that showed up after disconnecting or rebooting the iPhone; damage to the front camera assembly cable.

Open up the iPhone, disconnect the battery, disconnect the front camera cable, connect the screen (2 cables: one for the screen, another for the home button). Reseat the battery cable after making sure the battery connector on the board and on the battery are both undamaged, and making sure the battery connector on the board is not covered up by the foam gasket around it. Try to boot and if anything changes, please report back.
