When I start up it tells me it needs a system password and is protected by authentication.
Is there any way to factory restore? Or at least get into BIOS? Tried F8 with no success.

Dante Beauregard (SirDante562) no there is not. Now, there may be a chance with one of the many Dell BIOS Password generators out there. Read more about this on here Otherwise, call Dell and see if they are willing to help you out with that.
