stress test intel mac
How can I stress test, without extra soft-ware, the logic board/power supply on the above machines?
don't have original installation disk.

Take your original system installation disk, insert it and restart holding down the "D" key. Run diagnostics.

I don't know if you still need this but you can hold down option and D to boot to internet based Apple Hardware Test. You do need OS X 10.7 and up I believe.

BS There is a System Load App By Marcel Bresink on the inter net. You can run it. If your system freezes when running it you need to re-flux the GPU or at least get new thermal paste and smcFan control or some fan control to keep you system at about 35 celsius. any thing over 45 degrees for a prolonged period and your Mac will horizontal lines and freeZe

Thanks OT03 you have tried the 'system load app'? So what did you think I ran one and loaded you tube video. Is the old used iMac ready to reuse after this test?. What do you think of Ubuntu OS?
