Samsung JS8590 clicking issue

Hello,

my Samsung LED TV stopped working, when i try to turn it on the relais just clicks on and off and after about 15 seconds clicks on and off again and again. I read about bulged capacitors on the power supply board but mine looked fine. Standby voltages on the power board were at 9V which was written on the board so that is fine.

When i unplugged the T-con and mainboard and connected the tv to power the backlight came on. When i did this with a connected t-con but disconnected mainboard there was just one click and nothing else happened, when I then reconnected the mainboard the clicking on and off started again. So I think it is a mainboard Issue.

My manboard numer is BN94-07833B (BN41-2356B) and i can not find any plans for that. I read about the hdmi switching IC going bad on some other mainboards, but there were no shorts that i could measure on the IC. I tried a EEPROM reset but nothing happened when i connected the SDA pin to VCC.

Does anyone have a clue where i could start? Is there any common issue? Or at least some kind of service manual for the tv?

thank you

@paddy123 it looks like your model number is missing something. I'd expect to see something like a UN55 etc., prior to that. We need a complete number to even try to help you.

@paddz123

yes it could be a main board error but you still need to give us the other voltages you measured on the board. errors like this can also be coming from the T-con board. Check the power on it as well. Also, post some pictures of all of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

Hello, thank you for the answer.

I have also started the TV with plugged mainboard but unplugged t-con board and the tv was still clicking on and off so i really assume it is a mainboard problem. but i can not find a replacement part so I was hoping for some kind of advice or starting point for trying to fix it. I can post pictures of the board when i am at home from work.

thank you

Hello, it was a Mainboard issue. The hdmi Chip (the big in the legt) was faulty and I replaced. Would recommend to buy a mainboard, if you can not solder These large Chips. But after the fix i saw a very common backlight issue with this tv, where the Light guiding plate from the edge LED Breaks and the Light is much stronger on the left and right side

Hi Paddy, thanks for getting back this quickly. When you say HDMI chip, do you mean the main SOC below the black heat sink ? If so, where did you get the replacement Chip ?

Whe you take off the heat sink it is the big Black one without the heat paste. When you Look on my first picture it is the left one. Think it has 240 Pins and a ground plate, so your soldering should be really good and I used a heating plate from the bottom. I think i got it from aliexpress but it Was some time ago. I do not know if they still sell it

And one more question: How did you know it was that IC ? Did you observe any shorts, e.g. on the power supply lines ?

This Was 4 years ago... I do not know, get the Chip and solder it or get a New mainboard. Its up to you and it is Not clear if it is the problem in your case. So please try it or Do not try.
