I went to turn on my computer today and only got a gray screen.

I tried reseating the ram, resetting the pram, and everything else I could think of. I then decided to try and wipe the hdd and start over, so I put the install disc in and held down the alt + whatever key to show you the disc. I then tried install the os again, but it just kept freezing and not doing anything. Is this bad logic board?

Try holding +S on startup, once the code stops scrolling type fsck -fy. This will run a hard drive check, if the check repairs the hard drive, happy days! Your macbook should boot up when you type logout.

If it fails replace the hard drive.

If it passes but you still can't boot up, replace the logic board.

Could be a bad board, but one note on the memory -- try one module in a slot, with the other slot free, and then the reverse. It's fairly common for a slot to go bad, and this is the way to test for it. Many people never test for a bad slot and end up giving up on a machine. Generally when a slot is bad but it has memory in it, the computer malfunctions.
