sim tray will not install
removed the tray and installed sim card. Whenattempting to return tray, it will not go all the way in. It will with the sim removed.

it may be the flipper that ejects the sim tray is sticking. if you follow any of the repair guides for this phone (the link is the hammer at the top of screen-chose iphone / 3g) to take the front display off you will then be able to have a good look at your sim slot. You can try putting the tray in with sim in etc and see what it's catching on.

Flipper, like a little dolphin? ;-)
a really little dolphin, bit bigger than some zooplankton...
the other reason for sim sticking is that the motherboard isn't installed properly..if you look in the sim slot you will see this. Remove the display and motherboard and reposition by placing sim end of motherboard in first under the little tabs of the metal rim.
