Won't boot, swapped RAM, HD...is it my logic board?
Hi all-
I've got a MacBook that will only boot 1 in 10 times and I dont know what's preventing it the other 9. When it does boot, it doesn't make it very far before it shuts off.
Usually I get a startup chime, dvd and HD spin up, and then power off.
Tried reseating RAM, using only 1 of 2 sticks, using RAM from my MBP, didn't change symptom.
Put in known good Hard drive, still no change.
I got it to boot into the Snow Leopard DVD which then told me it didn't have enough RAM. OOPS! Tried Leopard, and now it shuts off right after the DVD check.
The battery charges when it's not on, but my best luck is when I leave it boot on battery power alone. Still doesn't work all the time...
Do you think it could be the power supply board or is it the whole logic board that's dead?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Brandon

Just one question: any liquid spilled on this macbook?

The original 2x256MB was installed so when I was trying with one stick it was only 256MB total. I tried with 2x2GB from my MBP one at a time and both at once. Still no dice.
Don't think there was any liquid spilled...but I can't say for sure. I cleaned off some whitish corrosion on the ram with some alcohol which tells me it wasn't clean for it's whole life....
Thanks for the help!
