Has the display been physically damaged (e.g. laptop dropped or screen cracked) or the laptop gotten wet at all?
If NOT then as the laptop is relatively new consult the manufacturer's warranty statement regarding a manufacturer's warranty repair or replacement.

They won't want to know if it is user damage

I imagine if you mention user end damage, they will have a replacement option as well.
