i have opened my pc and i found out part of the left side circuit board got damaged, between the Ethernet connection and the two usb slots. Like i got a lil crack if i add pressure and binds together sound comes out, otherwise it separates and sounds out. what can i do to fix a crack on a circuit board?

Sorry bernabe, I do not think that you can fix the board, crakcs and break usually break the traces and are hard to fix (not impossible) but hard for the DIY'er. Time to start looking for a replacement.

Bernabe, the speaker connector is on the left side. Please follow Dell's instructions (found here) in order to reseat the connection (Connector 6).

PS: That manual assumes that you have the Dell Studio 1557 or the 1558. If you do not have that model (Check the bottom), please respond with the correct model number and I can look for it.

Bernabe, you may have dislodge or even broken part of the speaker assembly. Hard to say and the only way to find out is by opening it and surveying the damage. The manual is available online at Dell Hope this helps and let us know what you find. Good Luck.

I think the best way to diagnose as in what is broken would be by disassembling it and to take a god look at connection to ensure they are not disconnected or dislodged. Hard to speculate, so best is to investigate:-)

It sounds to me like two related problems. The speaker problem sounds like either a connector fault, a marginal connection or a broken circuit board trace. These are all similar problems from an electronic standpoint, and are basically equivalent to "the connection is broken because some physical thing isn't making contact any more." The stuck right click is probably either a case mis-alignment or something which broke off inside and got itself jammed underneath the button.

If you remove the case around the keyboard, you can examine the area to the left of the keyboard and look for the connection problem. A good, strong flashlight and a magnifier might help. Once the bezel is off, you can probably see what's going on with the button. If not, probing with a thin piece of plastic can be a useful and (most likely) non-destructive way of finding out.
