Blinking green light on the AC adapter connector

Hello! I've got a liquid-damaged 13" unibody MacBook (non-Pro). The light on the AC adapter plug blinks green. I've tried testing the RAM and slots. I've removed the board completely and replaced the DC-in with a known-good DC-in, and it still just blinks. In fact, the bare board connected to a DC-in with the AC adapter plugged in still blinks, so the problem is clearly unaffected by all elements (screen, RAM, etc.) and obviously has to do with the board itself. The liquid damage was on the underside, mostly in the upper-right corner by the video connector and MagSafe port (although like I said, I've replaced the DC-in and that is not the problem), and the board responds exactly the same whether it's fully connected up or bare. I've cleaned off the sticky substance with rubbing alcohol, but there is still some staining.

Anyone have an idea of what to look for with this one? The previous owner mentioned that he got the screen to "flash" upon powering up, but that it stayed black and did not boot or move beyond that state. I associate what he said with bad RAM or a bad slot, but like I mentioned, I've verified RAM is not the issue and could not replicate the "flash" he witnessed, and in my case I only see the blinking light, with absolutely no response trying to power up (and I wouldn't expect a response, with the blinking light and all).

Anyway, if anyone has thoughts on what part of the board to be looking at, or what the steadily blinking green light indicates (I've never seen one do that before), please let me know.

Thanks!

I scrubbed the board with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol, and now I have a solid light and the machine powers on, chimes, and seems to work fine, except that the screen is totally black. I suspect the problem is either the video cable or the socket the video cable goes into, because both have some corrosion...I've gotten off as much as possible, but there is still some discoloration. Anyone have experience replacing the video cable? I know it is removable, if you can open up the hinge, etc.

Hook it up to an external monitor first. ( I know, you knew that)

I would, but I don't have the 39th variation of the video adapter gizmo that is necessary to connect external video for this model. I only have the first 38 variations. I suppose I should get one though, seeing as unibody laptops aren't going anywhere. :-(

Yeah, I have a drawer full and still got in two new ones this week. Just as soon as I get them all Apple will go wireless via iWire.
