jamesbrown5012 if you checked your charger as well as the cable and found it to be working properly, it is most likely the charging port in your Kindle fire. to repair it you will have to disassemble it using these guides should help. Then you will have to either resolder your old connector or replace it with a new one. To find a proper replacement port could be the most difficult part.

Of course it is entirely possible that your battery is no longer holding a charge, and in that case you might as well replace it since you already opened the Kindle up.
