Third generation of the Ford Focus
Remote of my key is not working i.e. automatic locking of the car using remote is not working. Have changed battery and also done the procedure mentioned in user manual
Tried everything but still no confirmation beep when cycling ignition key from I or II or III to 0:
Central locking works fine using key in lock and by operating indoor switches.
Fuse 63 and others all ok.
Unplugged cables to GEM box for more than one hour.
Unplugged battery for 30 mins.
Still no confirmation beep when trying to program key fob and key fob will not operate doors. Battery is new in key fob.
I have the same issue:
I am having the same problem with my 2002 TDCi in that it won't enter learning mode which means I can't program a key fob to operate central locking.
However the immobiliser seems to work fine with the right number of flashes from the LED.
It's driving me nuts as the keys are now worn out from using them manually so I'd like to get the key fob to operate the central locking.
Usual suspects seem ok:
- Fuses good
- Battery replaced
Just no 'bong' to indicate learning mode/programming mode was entered.
The 'bong' does operate with the lights on/ignition key removed/door open.
If someone has a solution, I would love to hear it :-)
I have the same problem I unhooked the car battery for one hour and now it works great

I had the same problem so what I did was unhook the car battery for one hour after that it work great
My 2009 ford focus was easy. Key in the ignition and turn it from 0 to 3 but without starting the engine 3 times quickly. It will then beep. Then u can press lock on your fob and both keys will work.
