LCD dead after hit, no visible damage

Hi, today I stupidly hit with my phone in anger, dropping it on a table with screen down. It was strong hit but not strong enough to expect a damage, I'd say. After that the screen went totally black even though the phone keeps running, receiving calls, messages, lighting up buttons. Just the screen remains 100% black, verified in a dark room. I have tools and some experience fixing phones, so I took it apart completely, hoping for finding maybe split connector or something but no such luck. I was even able to peel the screen from the main frame, seeing it looks completely undamaged from all sides even after careful inspection. I do expect I will need to buy a new screen, of course but I had this idea to ask first here, if maybe someone think of something else to check or try before buying the part..? Ideas welcomed, thanks.

Update (12/11/2015)

Fuuny fact #1: Digitizer works, so I'm able to accept calls, knowing where is the button located. I just have to ask who's calling, like in the old days.:-)

REn, yes you will have to replace the display. Sounds to me like the impact destroyed the electronics that drive the LCD display. Yes, that can happen even with a still working digitizer.

Yeah, I was afraid of that, just hoped for miracle. Thanks, I'll just buy a screen and try to forget about all that.:-)

I replaced screen, works well. Just noting in case someone would come around wondering, if a screen with no visible damage from a fall/impact could be really broken, as described.
