I have same issue Thick black stripe on iMac screen after attempting HDD to SSD swap with mine, i hope its not display connector on motherboard.

Sorry guy ;-{ You damaged the LCD in the process of opening it. The video signaling system in the newer iMacs won't show a stripe if defective, only a damaged LCD will. The newer 'Thin Series' iMac's are hard to open without the proper tools, taking ones time and following the IFIXIT guide to the letter.
