Problem with Bulb breaking

I have replaced the bulb in my TV twice in the past month and every time it works for a couple days perfectly fine and then one day I will hear a large pop sound and the screen will go black. When I pull the bulb out, it is shattered and not usable. What could cause this? How hard would it be to fix inexpensively?

Ashley Sonnentag, it is possible that this is caused by a cooling/ventilation issue. Check the Lamp's Cooling fan and make sure that it's clean, spins freely and that it is unobstructed. Of course there is also the remote possibility that your ballast provides over voltage (unlikely but possible) which then causes the lamp to over heat and burst. Careful with the voltage on the ballast it is somewhere around the 380V range. Last but not least, it may just have been a poor quality lamp.

update

The fan is behind the lamp with the ballast

Also, try to diagnostics and see if it comes up with an error code blink

How exactly would I get access to the lamps cooling fan to see if it working properly?

Let me see if I have a service manual for your TV. What is the Chassis number for your TV? It should be on the same tag as your model number.
