Power Problems No Boot

Mac Pro A1186

I have a Mac Pro that once power button is pressed fans spin for a second then machine is off again, so its like it never turned on just when the power button is pressed the fans spin. Do I need to replace the power supply???

More than likely it is the power supply, but what are the diagnostic LEDs showing? If it is the power supply, it's an easy replacement. Here's how to do it: Mac Pro First Generation Power Supply Unit Replacement
