Plugged my Cuisinart CSB-76 Hand Blender into a 220v power source?

I plugged my 110v hand blender in a 220v power source. It made a flash, and never turned on again, so we can assume its burned, right?

What exactly was damaged?

Is it possible to fix it?

How?

Where do I buy the parts needed to do it?

pedro, the only way to determine exactly what has overloaded is by taking the blender apart. Most likely it is the caps (potentially a fuse on a circuit board) or even the motor. But, you'll have to take it apart to see what needs to be replaced.

Hi oldturkey!

Thank you for your message!

So do you think I should take it apart? I am not very experienced in doing stuff like that, but, on the other hand, I don't think I have another choice...

I will open it and post the photos soon!

I definitely would take it apart. Take lots of pictures so you know what goes where. then take a couple of hi-res images of the electronic components and post those to keep us informed.
