Why is my ps2 model SCPH-90004 not reading discs
When i put a ps2 game the lens start to make sqeaking noise and the screens shows disc read error and i wonder what adjusting lens helps with?

Presage lehutso, "make sqeaking noise" sounds more like a bad drive than a bad laser. There is a way of adjusting the height of the lens which may work for you. Check on here then there is also a way to adjust the output to the laser. This adjustment, if not done right can and will destroy your laser, so be prudent with that. my ps2 also had the same problem and at a time i thought my ps2 was dead but still i did not loose hope.
i figured a solution to this problem. when you close the top part then only the disc spins right.open the top
part with the eject button and take a drop of oil in your fingures there is a gap between the top spinner where you place the dics and the lens there a deep silver gap between them right put the oil there with the
help of your little fingures and rub it softly. you know that the lens can slide up and download till the top
disc spinner slide it 2-3 times with the help of your hand manually after that the lens normally sticks to the back of the ps2 right.slide it and bring it close to the top disc spinner/placer sticking to it.put your game on the disc spinner/placer so that the lens get covered by the disc close the top part as usual and on your ps2.
the problem is fixed and the game works without any error.reply me after you have done it and tell me what
happened.
