Replace cracked digitizer front screen

Hi, just tried to replace the front digitizer touchscreen on this device, however despite being able to source a digitizer it appears to be glued to the LCD via a clear double sided sheet and I have managed to destroy the LCD now :(

- so if anyone has any source for this part

On the plus side it is pretty easy to remove the rear cover for access to the battery, just clipped to the bezel so gentle pying of the bezel outwards removes this if you work methodically.

is the tape/glue only around the edges? Or is it entire glued down across the entire face of the lcd?

According to some googling, you have to heat it up a bit because the digitizer is glued to the lcd and any forcing will destroy the lcd. Full lcd replacement costs about $200 and is the easier way to go.

Honestly, please do not take this personal but before you destroying another LCD trying to fuse the two parts, I would take it to a pro. I am sure they would not mind answering your question about the best ways to do the repair. I know we don't at our store. If your bent on doing it your self the eBay ref above is a good place.

These two parts are fuse just like all other galaxies. Will will have to heat the glass and separate the two. That is the only way to get the original digitizer. However you can always purchase another and fuse the two new piece together with LOCA or OCA Sheets.

This is not an answer but a question... I'm about to change my screen over and have ordered a replacement which will arrive soon, so my question is, how to disassemble the Note Pro 12.2? Is it just a matter of removing the screen from the front in the same way you do for an iPad, or do you need to remove the device back? If the latter, what is the procedure?

I thinking 2 buy one but the digitizer is broken.touchpad is ok wath u think is posible to replace just glass or digitizer ???

After having gone through the incredibly tedious and time-intensive task of carefully heating and peeling the digitiser away from the LCD, I wouldn't bother doing this again. It's far easier to buy the digitiser and LCD as a complete assembly and just swap it out.

The digitiser is bonded to the ENTIRE surface of the LCD with a sheet of optically-clear adhesive, and it took me several hours to separate the two, then several hours more to bond the new digitiser with some 3M OCA sheet. Not worth the effort! Next time, I'll just swap the lot out and save me a couple of days.

Could the LCD turn on after removing the digitizer.. I was wanting to cheaply mines charged with image of battery but won't power on haven't order the digitizer. And yes it was a whole lot of mess trying to get it off.

You can replace the glass if the touch screen and LCD works although I wouldn't recommend attempting it if you have to ask

Totally agree. The glass is physically glued to the LCD panel and you can destroy the touch sensitive panel under the glass very easily. Just buy a whole new screen and all is well!

also, if you do an asus transformer T100TQ -screen cracked and it has for the most part full sensititivty to touch just depends if glass is stting wrong way and I just gently turn upside down and get full touch back but a tin y spot seemed to arrive of color in lcd

I bought the whole assembly for my galaxy tab pro 12.2 but when i put it all back together , all i get is a bunch of thick lines of different colors going down the screen...it does make touch sounds when i touch so i know the digitizer is working. i have also checked all the connections over and over again...what could be the problem

You most likely cracked the lcd screen. They are super fragile and thin.

I just replaced a laptop digitizer successfully on an hp not problem...Its nice finding out that samsung SM-T520 is like totally glued to the lcd making my life a living !&&* right now, they didnt have to do that. My guess is that they are using el cheapo digital glass or someone sued them due to getting a glass fragment in the eye. I wish I had known this prior to ordering the digital glass but there was no mention in the ad for the glass that you would have to order both lcd and digitizer separately.
